Exploring How Generative AI Can Transform Training
Context
With generative AI growing fast, many organizations are wondering how it could reshape learning and development practices.
MNT, the leading mutual insurer for local public service employees, wanted to explore how these technologies could enrich its training systems and help employees better absorb and apply knowledge. The goal was to move beyond theory and test, in a hands-on way, how generative AI could enhance an existing training module. So, MNT launched a Proof of Concept (PoC) focused on its internal course The Fundamentals of PSC.
The aim: assess AI’s ability to create interactive learning simulations that strengthen practice and complement traditional formats. The project also sought to guide MNT’s future decisions around AI adoption in training programs.
The Solution
Aneo partnered with MNT to design and run a generative AI Proof of Concept for training. The experiment involved integrating a tool that generated interactive educational scenarios, allowing learners to practice in situations close to real-life work cases. Two formats were tested:
- Interview simulations, where AI played the role of a conversation partner so trainees could experiment with different approaches.
- Simulated evaluations, where AI acted as an examiner assessing participants’ knowledge and reactions.
Objectives
Through this PoC, MNT had several goals:- Assess the educational value of generative AI, especially its ability to strengthen engagement and long-term learning.
- Test how employees would respond to AI-driven simulations and how comfortable they felt using them.
- Quantify the potential benefits of these technologies to inform future investments and training strategies.
This PoC marks an important step toward understanding how generative AI can become a lasting part of MNT’s learning ecosystem.
Results
The PoC ran for three weeks and involved 20 volunteer participants. It delivered concrete insights tied to the project’s three main objectives.- Assessing learning impact – The AI-generated simulations were seen as relevant and useful. By the end, 90% of users felt their PSC knowledge had improved.
- Testing user adoption – Overall satisfaction reached 7.9/10, with 95% praising the AI’s speed and responsiveness.
- Evaluating deployment potential – Interest was strong: 85% of participants supported using this kind of tool in future training, and 75% said they’d use it on their own initiative.
